I worked with Rural Education and Action Development (READ), a grassroots organisation based in Ariyalur district in Tamil Nadu that focuses on improving education, health, and livelihood opportunities for marginalised rural communities. The organisation works across village networks supporting children’s education, women’s self-help groups, community health awareness, and social protection initiatives.

My work focused on documenting the daily environments where these programmes unfold. Travelling between villages, schools, and community learning centres, I photographed children, teachers, and families within the spaces they use for education and community gatherings. The images centre on candid moments of learning classrooms in session, children reading together, and the informal interactions that shape rural education.
